iPhone 17 Upgrade Homework

For the smoothest upgrade experience, complete these steps to back up your data and confirm your Apple ID password before your scheduled upgrade.

Please complete these steps at least one day prior to your upgrade. This will allow ample time for the backups to complete and help provide a smooth and quick transition to your new phone.

Step 1

Back-Up iCloud Apps

Go to Settings > tap on your Name / Apple ID at the top > iCloud > See All > Toggle on the following:

Photos
Passwords & Keychain
Notes
Messages (optional. Note: photos received in Messages are not automatically in your Photos app)
Contacts
Health
Reminders

Any other data that isn't backed up to iCloud or to an app provider's server should be saved to another device, for example Voice Memos.

Step 2

Confirm Apple ID Sign In

Go to appleid.apple.com and verify that you can sign in with the Apple ID and password used on your KP iPhone. We want you to prevent having to retrieve it when we do your upgrade.

Important

As a reminder, we do not restore backups when setting up new phones. Your phone will be set with a new default KP build.

NEVER Restore Your KP iPhone Using iTunes

Do not use iTunes to restore a backup onto your KP iPhone. Doing so will "brick" the phone.
